Having a product supported on just one very oversized laptop is a dead end. The laptop market is a big part of the pro audio world. I was really looking forward to those plugins - I've heard them, and they're good. Unless we can come up with something, the Solo card is going back, and it's a shame. So what are my options? A 17" MacBook Pro (expensive boat anchor)? An old 15" MacBook Pro (almost as heavy, but far too slow)? Or use the money to rent lots of time in the studio and use the real gear? Or spend even more money on a Quad core desktop machine for home and use the laptop just to transport the files. So much for dreams of LA-2A, LA-3A, EMT 250 & 140, 1176, dbx160, Pultec, Fatso, and Massive Passive. Then I ordered the Solo 2 Laptop, and of course discovered that the slot on my laptop is an SD, not an express card slot. They all fit into a somewhat heavy shoulder bag. I'm interning at a Manhattan studio, so I bought a MacBook Pro 13" and loaded it up with ram, a Glyph firewire drive, Pro Tools, a digi mic pre, and a couple large-diaphram AKG condensers.
